I don’t remember when I fell in love with wolves I just know that to me they are the most beautiful animal and very misunderstood. They are a lot like humans; devoted, live as a family unit, very protective of the pups, and most mate for life. They have changed my life in many ways, all for the good. I draw strength from them and inspiration. I will not give up my fight with others to make sure wolves are allowed to live in peace and free.
“As I hiked in the back country that day for a few moments we stopped and looked at each other. We made eye contact and I knew that you could see my heart.
Months later I can still see your eyes. Sadly news has now come that hunting has opened in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming.
Members of the packs are being brutally chased down and murdered out of hatred. There is fear in their eyes, confusion and panic. Pups left without parents to slowly suffer. My heart bleeds.
I can still see your eyes and mine feel with tears. I plead with God, “Please Lord, why don’t you help them?” After a few moments of silence, a response, “I am,” says the Lord, “I saw your heart and brought them you.”

One chance encounter, an encounter of a lifetime in Yellowstone in May 2011 and my life was drastically changed. I was seeking answers to some very important questions and my questions were answered by a wolf, a blessing.
